Facebook introduced its own smartphone, adapted to work with
the world's largest social network, as well as shell Facebook Home, designed
for devices running Android. We are talking about turning "Google
Phone" in the social phone, which focuses on people with whom the user
communicates. This was told by the head of Facebook at the official presentation
on Thursday. Zuckerberg smartphone called HTC First. Argued that no other
mobile device will not be able to offer as much easy access to social
networking as a novelty.
In July last year, the first reports that Facebook, along
with the HTC is developing its own phone, as well as the operating system for
smart phones. However, the submitted gadget runs on Android and customized for
social networks with a special membrane Facebook Nome. It replaces the home
screen of the phone and provides access to the functions of communication
through a social network, including a chat with the ability to make calls to
friends in the social network.
As told Zuckerberg, Facebook Home is integrated into the
Android system level. For example, notification of the incoming message appears
on top of the current application. Together with it's picture shows the sender.
The user can reply to the message, or ignore it. This function is called Chat
Heads.
Home Facebook Home screen is called Cover Feed - instead of
the standard widgets specific to Android, it displays the news feed and photos
from Facebook. Thus, taking the smart phone in hand, the first thing a user
sees the latest news from their friends. Representatives of the company
explained that reading all the updates on the home screen - it's much more
convenient than constantly access the application to view them.
Working with Facebook Home built entirely on the basis of
gestures. For example, to "like" you like the photos in the stream
Cover Feed, the user only has to click on it twice, and to remove unnecessary
message - hold your finger to the side, brushing it.
HTC First - the first smartphone to hit the market with
pre-coated Facebook Home. The model will be available in four colors - black,
white, blue and red. Buy the device in the U.S. will be on April 12 at a price
of $99 with reference to the cellular operator.
Facebook Home can be installed not only on smartphones HTC,
but also on Android-devices from other manufacturers. The shell will be
available free of charge from April 12 in the online store Google Play. The
company promises to add new features to the app each month, and by the end of
the year to release a version for tablets.
