The topic of the week, and this summer is undoubtedly Windows 8.1 , the new version of the operating system that Microsoft has introduced new features and enhancements that will hopefully give a boost to the "slow" PC market. Among the many innovations introduced by Microsoft was clearly the introduction of new libraries DirectX 11.2 , a solution that will help developers improve the game experience offering unprecedented detail and resolutions.

New DirectX 11.2 for Windows 8.1 Preview

The Redmond, however, has now specified that DirectX 11.2 will be the prerogative of Windows 8.1 and the console of the next generation, a choice that seems to exclude for the time being then a backward compatibility with the "old" Operating Systems.

A part of this move, which if confirmed would be a choice made in optical marketing, libraries DX 11.2 introduces several new features among which Tiled Resources . Tiled Resources, in other words, will weigh less on the GPU when you have to handle high-resolution textures, the latter fact will be loaded only when they are framed in detail during the game.

A nice additional touch of Microsoft that surprise us since we do not expect an update so important also in terms of graphical management. For more info please visit the page on the manufacturer's website .
