For those who want to buy Samsung Galaxy S4, which has
already appeared on the foreign media stores, it will be useful to know the
following interesting fact. As is well known, accessible version of the Korean
flagship offers 16 GB Built-in memory for storing data - that is, as stated in
the description of the device. In fact, the user under his own needs of them
are available only 8.49 GB (53%). For comparison, the 16-gigabyte version of
the iPhone 5 has almost 90% of this volume.
Even factory Galaxy S4 without SIM-card and with no contract
gives all the same eight and a half gigabytes. The company has decided to
reserve 7.2 GB for system usage and tear of this volume at least a small part
will not work. About 2 GB is itself Android, a few hundred megabytes brought to
the application, and for the rest of the space that you need, we can only
guess. Perhaps it is used to restore the image of the operating system and
factory reset, or the locations of installed applications in many languages.
Thus, Samsung sells its masthead unit under the label
"16 GB", positioning it as a competitor to the iPhone 5 and the other
16-gigabyte flagship smartphones, and selling them at the right price. In
reality, the name of Samsung Galaxy S4 8GB would be more appropriate.
Of course, you can always extend the built-in flash storage
cards microSD-format, but, you see, is not too pleased to see that the claimed
16 GB in fact turn out to be almost half trimmed.
