The Facebook app is now present on each device exists.
Alternatively, as you know, there is a mobile version of the famous social
network. One of the biggest threats to our privacy, however, is to make
available to all private information stored on the device managed by the APA
own capital. Photos, videos, and personal messages may be revealed simply by
opening the application Facebook .
There is therefore the need to protect the private data through some preventive
measures.
Here are five ways to make sure that any intruder from
gaining access to your personal information:
- Lock your device : Of course,
you'll think. In fact more than 30% of people do not use a password to
protect their mobile devices. In theory, this should be your first line of
defense if the phone is lost or stolen. You should always have an access
code, not just to protect your Facebook account, but also for other
sensitive information. Think about the work email, important documents,
banking information etc.. If you have an iPhone, you can enter a passcode
on your phone by going to Settings General> Passcode Lock. You can also
increase the number of characters and set the phone to their data from
being deleted after a certain number of failed access attempts.
- Use a different password for e-mail
and Facebook Account : Three-quarters of users select one password for
all their log-in and common codes are often obvious ("123456"
and "password" at all). As you enter more digits, letters, or
symbols you can dramatically increase the time it takes to discover your
password. You need to create multiple passwords for your accounts,
especially for Facebook that hosts tons of personal information.
- Choose a protocol for safe navigation
: Facebook has offered an option of safe navigation in 2011. Without a
secure HTTP connection (HTTPS), the data are subject to attack every time
you use a Wi-Fi (Starbucks, hotels, etc..).
Unfortunately, there is a downside:
HTTPS encryption can slow your experience on Facebook, a common disorder
already on the phone. Avoid unprotected Wi-Fi and 3G/4G used the service of
your provider to prevent potential violations.
- Enable notifications access and approvals : To ensure the safety of your Facebook account, you can set up a function (via this link ) that lets you know when and where you are logging. Facebook will send a notification for each login. After assigning names to the most commonly used devices, you will get a warning if someone breaks into your account from an unknown computer, phone or tablet. And if somebody violates your account, you may receive directions to reset your secret code and defend it.
- Use "trusted contacts" : This recent innovation of Facebook allows you to select a small group of trusted friends. In case you do not have access to your account, either through the security questions, Facebook will send codes to these different friends. Once you have all the codes it could be done in again.
What would you advise you to safeguard your Facebook account?
