Windows 8.1 is a free upgrade to Windows 8. This was
officially announced at a conference for investors in the U.S. Boston new Chief
Financial Officer Tami Reller.
The representative of Microsoft, speaking at the annual
conference of the 41 JP Morgan Technology, today announced that the software
giant has crossed the milestone of 70,000 applications available in the store
Windows Store. On top of that, it was announced that the update Windows 8.1,
also known under the code name Windows Blue, will be available in the Windows
Store for free download. Windows RT users also gain access to them. Thus, the
rumors that this comprehensive update can be paid, did not materialize.
The update most of the innovations and additions based on
feedback from users of the original Windows 8, Reller said. Microsoft has not
said exactly which innovations are expected in the new OS, however, claim that
the pre-assembly of the product will appear in the next month.
Windows 8.1 is available for download at the end of the year.
