Despite the new Intel Haswell still provides the use of a
controller and RAM modules DDR3, DDR4 technology is now ready and will begin to
reach the market by starting as usual from the segment Server before joining
then on the consumer.
In this regard InnoDisk announced that it has prepared the
first sample of DDR4 RDIMM modules, the result of 8 years of development. As it
has done in the past (see transition from DDR2 to DDR3), the new generation of
memory will lead to an improvement over the performance optimization of
consumption as well as the heat produced, to be reckoned with when it's all
about Server Systems with numerous DIMM slots.
With a transfer rate of up to 3.2 Gbps (value that will no
doubt greatly exceeded), the DDR4 will have a base frequency of 2133 MHz and a
voltage of only 1.2 volts (this according JEDEC standard), while for concerns
the density it comes to modules 64 and 128 GB . Currently, the company did not
mention price even though we know that the initial costs will be high,
especially considering the target segment and the type of memory (RDIMM).
