Snapdragon processor 800 ahead of Apple A6X in the benchmark GLBenchmark

In January of this year, Qualcomm announced a new line of mobile processors, of which particularly stood out Snapdragon Snapdragon 600 and 800. Both systems have better processor micro-architecture, and support memory type LPDDR3. And if the first chip manufacturers are actively inserted into smartphones - HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, - the second was postponed until the end of II quarter. And now the web has seen first benchmarks results that are truly impressive.

The first tests Snapdragon 800 were found in the online database benchmark GLBenchmark, tester graphics performance chips. Based on the published data, the first device on Snapdragon 800 may be a smartphone LG D801, which may be called the LG Optimus G2.

According to the tables, graphics Adreno 330 Snapdragon 800 is superior to the power module PowerVR SGX554MP4 in Apple A6X, which is used in the iPad tablet 4. Fourth generation Apple tablet score of 938 fps at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, and the smartphone LG D801 - 1210 fps at the same resolution.

Together with full support for OpenGL ES 3.0 chip should open up new opportunities for developers of three games. It should be noted that the smartphone shows better performance than the tablet, although smartphone requires closer work with energy conservation. By the way, apparently, LG D801 processor operates at a maximum frequency of 1.7 GHz, while the peak for the Snapdragon 800 are at 2.3 GHz.

Other features worth noting screen with a resolution of 1794 x 1080, which suggests that LG is first applied to their screens touch-screen buttons, as the latest versions of Nexus and tablets on Android. Smartphone running Android 4.2.2. Naturally, there is no evidence of the date of the announcement, but is usually from leakage benchmark before the announcement is about a month, so it is likely that in May, LG will announce its new flagship.

In fairness it should be noted that the testing involved flagship processor Apple, presented last fall. In the next few months is expected to debut the iPad 5, which is rumored to get a more powerful chip A7X, which will replace the current A6X.
