Is Apple “hates jailbreak”?

The game of cat-and-mouse game between Apple and the jailbreak community has been going on for about 6 years. Every time when masters released a new version of its tools for software cracking Apple so by using the vulnerability, the latter almost immediately reacts and patches found holes in its OS, releasing a new update.

Sometimes these updates iOS go fastest. For example, to close a series of vulnerabilities that allow anyone iDevices on your iOS 6 with Evasi0n, took the guys in Cupertino just 43 days. And that's what - that's bugs, allowing service JailbreakMe 3.0 break iOS, were closed programmers do in 9 days.

This difference in response time is due primarily to the fact that the holes exploited by JailbreakMe, were much greater security risk to users than those who use tools such as Evasi0n. Recall - JailbreakMe can be executed directly from the browser on the device, thus risking almost every user with iOS 4.3.3. Evasi0n also requires physically connecting the device to your computer via USB-interface. Obviously, the security risk of this exploit is much lower.

Every time Apple release a software update, closes the jailbreak vulnerability, especially active users immediately rush to point fingers and accuse the company of unfair anti-jailbreak community. «Apple hates jailbreaking! It only makes that releases updates to kill jailbreak "- you can read the comments after the next patch. How justified such statements? Are all of the Apple based only on hatred for burglars, or the company is just trying to protect people's most advanced mobile operating system in the world?

Each released jailbreak tool - the result of enormous effort on the part of one or more masters. All this work is based on errors and vulnerabilities in the operating system that allows an attacker to exploit a security hole, and eventually build on its basis a working jailbreak-product. And, if the holes not, and can not be jailbreak.

As if they were small, these vulnerabilities represent to users iOS-device potential threat. Even if some of them do more harm, Apple just can not close it. The thing is that even these small errors can lead to larger, which attackers can exploit. This, in turn, can lead to leakage of personal data of users and is much more serious.

What are the real risks of implementing such a terrible scenario of "judgment day," when all the iPhone and iPad will be under the control of masters? Of course, minimal. But Apple did not want to take even the risk. And it is quite understandable.

So the answer to the question of this article, the prisoner of the title - "no." Apple does not hate jailbreak. I should say even more - Apple-like jailbreak community. Not only is the latter constantly throws up a lot of ideas for future versions of iOS, so also helps to strengthen the security of the system. Unfortunately, all this is to the detriment of jailbreakers. Some want to have a secure device, the other - the ability to jailbreak. You can choose for yourself one thing - security or freedom. But to accuse Apple is that it does its job of protecting the people, not worth it.

As for me - I choose freedom. I'm ready to put his device to a potential risk, in return for the new opportunities offered by the jailbreak. But I also understand Apple, release a update that closes the vulnerability and makes iGadget protected.
