The Apple A7 chip 64-bit is a marketing gimmick, Qualcomm attack

Qualcomm is second to none and openly discusses the new Apple chip A7 by the senior vice president  Anand Chandrasekher , polemical tone and direct all the attention going to attack the media which concentrated in the last few weeks using a 64-bit chip. The processor used in the iPhone 5S, top of the range of the house of Cupertino, has been defined as a 'marketing gimmick' than a real technical revolution on the part of the executive Qualcomm, with no real benefit for users at this stage :

We know, because there is so much hype around Apple did with its A7 (64-bit). I think they're doing a marketing operation . There is no benefit that users can draw directly . Due to the chip 64 bit it is possible to handle even more memory but the iPhone 5s only has 1GB of RAM . Basically you would need at least 4GB of memory, so, not if he has no need for the performance, and the type of applications that take advantage of this hardware are usually relegated to the class of server.

Apple wanted to be first to market with a 64-bit chip, anticipating all the chipmaker and other competing hardware platforms, but what are the real advantages present considered to be the rest of the hardware and the software that controls it? While waiting for Cupertino reveal the real advantages today s' strong criticism of Qualcomm, for its part, announced for the near future 64-bit chips, but not before they become really necessary and can be really usable. The executive Qualcomm then concluded:

Will only be meaningful by improving efficiency, in particular the operating systems they feel the need (64 bit) at some point.

Intel Haswell-E has a secret

The processors Intel Haswell-E will come on the market only next year, but there are many features revealed about the chip and in general to the new platform created by the Santa Clara for the band enthusiast. So, how Haswell-E, which is assembled with 22-nanometer manufacturing process, integrate up to 8 Core with Hyper-Threading technology as well as in Quad-Channel Memory DDR4 and X99 chipset.
intel haswell processor E Secret

Just about Core and architecture, some rumors appeared on the web and taken from techradar.com, reveal how Intel would have endowed this new family of well-CPU 14 Core, 6 of which, however, would be disabled on the desktop versions. This means that you might see in server solutions Xeon and 14 Core with the beauty of 28 Thread .

Intel is not new to this kind of solutions and already with Sandy Bridge-E had disabled two of the eight total cores, certainly for reasons related to the TDP and frequencies of desktop products. Given the performance of Haswell on socket LGA 1150, a processor similar on socket LGA 2011 with 14 Core should be a real powerhouse.

AMD FX-9590 for pre-order at 920 Dollars

After the presentation last week, they finally reach information on the prices of new processors AMD FX-9370 and FX-9590 , the first on the market to come with operating frequencies in the range of 5 GHz . We have already said that we are faced with 8 Core CPU with Pile-driver architecture and AM3 + socket that have a TDP quite high and stood at 200/220 watts.
AMD Series FX-9590
The latest news leaked on sales prices come from the USA on an online shop where the two AMD Processors are priced respectively at 920 (FX-9590) and 526 Dollars (FX-9370). If confirmed, this would in our view, a figure very disproportionate since we are talking anyway Pile-driver processors that do not have anything other than an FX-8350 with unlocked multiplier.

We await further confirmation / denial, in the meantime you can find the offer to the mentioned link .

Snapdragon processor 800 ahead of Apple A6X in the benchmark GLBenchmark

In January of this year, Qualcomm announced a new line of mobile processors, of which particularly stood out Snapdragon Snapdragon 600 and 800. Both systems have better processor micro-architecture, and support memory type LPDDR3. And if the first chip manufacturers are actively inserted into smartphones - HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, - the second was postponed until the end of II quarter. And now the web has seen first benchmarks results that are truly impressive.

The first tests Snapdragon 800 were found in the online database benchmark GLBenchmark, tester graphics performance chips. Based on the published data, the first device on Snapdragon 800 may be a smartphone LG D801, which may be called the LG Optimus G2.

According to the tables, graphics Adreno 330 Snapdragon 800 is superior to the power module PowerVR SGX554MP4 in Apple A6X, which is used in the iPad tablet 4. Fourth generation Apple tablet score of 938 fps at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, and the smartphone LG D801 - 1210 fps at the same resolution.

Together with full support for OpenGL ES 3.0 chip should open up new opportunities for developers of three games. It should be noted that the smartphone shows better performance than the tablet, although smartphone requires closer work with energy conservation. By the way, apparently, LG D801 processor operates at a maximum frequency of 1.7 GHz, while the peak for the Snapdragon 800 are at 2.3 GHz.

Other features worth noting screen with a resolution of 1794 x 1080, which suggests that LG is first applied to their screens touch-screen buttons, as the latest versions of Nexus and tablets on Android. Smartphone running Android 4.2.2. Naturally, there is no evidence of the date of the announcement, but is usually from leakage benchmark before the announcement is about a month, so it is likely that in May, LG will announce its new flagship.

In fairness it should be noted that the testing involved flagship processor Apple, presented last fall. In the next few months is expected to debut the iPad 5, which is rumored to get a more powerful chip A7X, which will replace the current A6X.
