Microsoft loses profits from sales of the new software
package Office 2013, as it has not yet released a version of its mobile Apple.
According to analysts, it has so far cost the Redmond of several billion dollars.
Analysts at investment bank Morgan Stanley said that if the
Office 2013 by "Apple" operating system cost about $ 60, about a
third of all iPad owners have always bought it. This would bring Microsoft
solid 2.5 billion dollars in revenue. According to experts, the management of
the software giant is likely to think about it and calculated the potential
losses, but the desire to save the Office as part of the exclusive personal
computer (this does not include tablets) prevailed. Office has always been an
integral part of the PC, and Microsoft is more than happy.
Windows 8 - this is another attempt to protect personal
computers from the onslaught of tablets, which recently only increased. This is
manifested in the interface system oriented device with a touch screen - the
same way, different shell Office 2013. Plus, this approach - it's part of a strategy
to capture the corporate segment and the expulsion of a tablet running iOS and
Android.
Advancing on all fronts, Microsoft first announced Windows
RT, similar to Windows 8 for tablets on ARM-processors, and then introduced the
X86 Tablet PC-compatible proprietary Surface. A little later released a more
powerful Surface Pro, and both of them are now on sale, complete with state of
the art electronics, detachable keyboard, and of course, Windows 8. Now they
can be delivered and Office 2013, equipped with additional features and
significantly improved the old functions.
Microsoft offers a similar set of significant benefit in the
corporate and user segments of the computer market. Profits it receives, and
does not seem particularly upset by the missing couple billion, which was a
consequence of the absence of the version of Office 2013 for iPad.
